Can't Add Webfetti Assets to Your IM or Email?

Is Webfetti for IM compatible with my instant messenger?
Webfetti for IM is compatible with AIM, ICQ, MSN Messenger and Yahoo Messenger. (You must be using Internet Explorer 6.0 and above or Mozilla Firefox 2.0 and above as your web browser.) If you downloaded Webfetti prior to 7/2/08, we ask that you upgrade to the latest version of Webfetti.

Is Webfetti for IM compatible with all versions of AIM, ICQ, MSN Messenger and Yahoo Messenger
Webfetti for IM is compatible with:
  • AIM for Windows
  • Windows Messenger (MSN)
  • Yahoo Messenger for Windows
  • ICQ Lite/Pro
Webfetti for IM is not compatible with:
  • AIM Express
  • AIM Pro
  • AOL Communicator
  • AIM launched within AOL's built-in browser(AOL BuddyList)
  • ICQ2Go!
  • MSN Messenger for Windows Mobile-based Pocket PC/Smartphone
  • Yahoo Web Messenger Beta
  • Enhancement software like Dead AIM, Y!TunnelPro and Extreme Messenger

I've successfully downloaded Webfetti for IM, but I only see code when I try to add webfetti to my MSN Messenger. Why?
You likely have not rebooted your computer since downloading Webfetti for IM. While the Webfetti button will appear on your MSN Messenger after download, you will be unable to add webfetti icons to your IMs until after you have restarted your computer.

My friend is seeing code (for example: @[Webfetti: Hi Ya : [15/15_1_70]) when I try to send him/her a Webfetti asset in my IM client. What can he/she do to see the icon, instead?
If your friend does not yet have Webfetti, or has an earlier version of Webfetti, he/she will see code rather than the asset. Your buddy will need to download and install Webfetti - or upgrade to the latest version - in order to see the icon. To facilitate this, we occasionally include a brief message and a link to the Webfetti download page when your friend receives a message from you in which you have attempted to insert a Webfetti asset. Upgrade to the latest version of Webfetti.

Email FAQs

When I try adding a Webfetti asset or graphic to my email, I get the following message: "Sorry, Webfetti can't add assets on this page."  Why?
Webfetti for Email is compatible with Outlook, Outlook Express, AOL Mail 9.0, IncrediMail, MSN ISP Email and the rich media/HTML-enabled version of most web-based email interfaces - it does not, however, work with the "plain" version. (Web-based email interfaces block graphics in their plain version.)

The good news is you can toggle between the plain and rich-media versions of most web-based email platforms with a click of the mouse. For information on how to set your email account to accept graphics, see your email provider's help section or read below:
  • Gmail users
    Click the "Rich Formatting" link on the Compose Mail screen.

  • Yahoo users
    If you are using the New Yahoo Mail, simply click the "Rich Text" link at the top right of your Compose screen. If you are using Yahoo Mail classic, first click on "Options" at the top right of the screen. Then click on the "General Preferences" link. Then under the 'Composing E-mails' heading, choose the "Compose message as color and graphics" option. Then click on the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

  • Mail.com users
    Click the "Switch to Advanced Editor" button on your Compose Message screen.

  • Excite/iWon/My Way users
    Click the "Switch to Power Editor" link on your Compose screen.

  • Earthlink users
    Click the "Colors & Graphics" link on your Compose screen. (Earthlink Webmail only. It is not compatible with desktop version.)

  • Outlook Express users
    • Click on Tools, then Options.
    • Click on the "Read" tab. Then make sure there is no checkmark on the "Read all messages in Plain Text"
    • Click on the "Send" tab.
    • Under the "Mail Sending format" heading, make sure that the HTML option is chosen.
    • Click on the Apply button then the OK button.

  • IncrediMail users
    Webfetti for Email will only work with IncrediMail if you are using Internet Explorer version 6.0 or higher.

  • AOL Mail 9.0 users
    You must be using AOL Mail 9.0. If you are, you will see the Webfetti icon at the top of your compose message window.

  • Netscape, Eudora & Juno users
    Webfetti for Email does not currently work with these email platforms.
If your email interface is set to accept graphics (rich media version) and you are still getting this error message, be sure that your cursor is in the message body area of your email compose screen before trying to add a Webfetti asset. If the cursor is in the "TO" "CC" or any other field, you cannot add a Webfetti asset and will receive the error message above.
